Where Should I Sell? Platform Fee Comparison
Every digital-product platform takes a different cut, so the "best" one depends on your price and how much you sell. Enter your numbers and this free tool shows your take-home per sale and monthly net on Gumroad, Etsy, Payhip and Lemon Squeezy side by side — and highlights the winner for your situation. No signup.
Figures use each platform's commonly-cited all-in rates (transaction + payment processing) for a standard/free plan: Gumroad ~10%; Etsy 6.5% + ~3% + $0.25 + a $0.20 listing fee; Payhip 5% + ~2.9% + $0.30; Lemon Squeezy 5% + $0.50 (merchant of record). Rates change and paid plans differ — confirm the current numbers on each platform before deciding.
How to choose (beyond the fee)
The cheapest platform isn't always the right one. A few honest points the calculator can't show:
- Built-in traffic. Etsy costs more per sale but shoppers are already searching there. Gumroad/Payhip/Lemon Squeezy are cheaper but you bring all your own traffic.
- Taxes & admin. Lemon Squeezy is a "merchant of record," meaning it handles sales tax/VAT for you — worth the slightly different fee if you sell internationally.
- At low prices, fixed fees hurt most. A $0.25–$0.50 per-sale charge is a big chunk of a $3 product but trivial on a $40 one. Watch the "% kept" column for cheap products.
