FAQ
How do I calculate a test score percentage?
Divide the number of correct answers by the total number of questions, then multiply by 100. With 22 correct out of 25, that is 22 ÷ 25 × 100 = 88%. Enter total questions and the number wrong and this calculator does it instantly.
How are letter grades assigned?
This uses the common US scale: 90–100% = A, 80–89% = B, 70–79% = C, 60–69% = D, below 60% = F. Grading scales vary by school and country, so treat the letter as a guide and use your own scale if it differs.
Can I grade by number right instead of number wrong?
Yes — switch the mode to enter the number correct. The percentage and grade update either way. Entering the number wrong is the classic "EZ grader" workflow teachers use to mark a stack of papers quickly.
Does this round the percentage?
It shows the percentage to one decimal place and assigns the letter grade from the exact value. If your school rounds (for example 89.5% up to an A), apply that rounding to the displayed figure yourself.
